A multi-cultural Texan with a German mother, Mike grew up in Houston and was first in his family to graduate with undergraduate and then graduate degrees, He holds an MBA in Strategic Management, from Azusa Pacific University. Throughout his career as leadership development strategist and program director/facilitator he’s served inside and outside both startups and midsized firms as well as enterprise level companies: Microsoft, DirecTV, Pearson Education, Jacobs Engineering, Time Warner Cable and State Farm. Mike is husband to Arlene, his wife and life partner of 31 years and father of three individually gifted young people: Baylor Microbiologist-Michael, Eagle Scout and UNT business/music student-Paul and, honors HS Student-Erika. His hobbies include building trails, leading cub and boy scout troops, volleyball, and cycling. Mike has also led, served as a board member, or founded several non-profit volunteer associations including The Society for Information Management, The Association for Information Technology Professionals, The Association for Business Technology professionals and The Highland Village Parks Foundation. He’s served two Boy Scouts of America troops as Cub Master/Committee Chair/Assistant and Scout Master, brotherhood of the order of the arrow member, and a number of other BSA honors and volunteer positions.
Mike also adjunct teaches University Master of Science in Information Technology and Management classes on Product Management, Dev Ops and Digital Transformation. He is the recipient of AITP’s National Leader of the Year award, ABTP DFW’s Leader of the Year Award and is a 2021 DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast Inductee into the Merv Tarde “Values in Leadership” Circle.
Mike regularly guest lectures at industry and university events on leadership, consciousness, virtue ethics, program management, change management and digital transformation. He also delivers ABTP Senior Leadership and Digital Transformation Forums both live, virtually and through LMS systems to leaders ranging from middle managers to CEOs of organizations of every size and scope in diverse geographical locations.
